African American Television Households Growing According to Nielsen

Nielsen’s National Universe Estimates, which data is used to help determine commercial advertising rates each television season, indicates that African American households grew faster than the national average, 1.5% versus 1.3%, respectively.

The report also lists New York as the largest African-American television market. Atlanta (up from 3rd for 2006-2007), Chicago, Washington and Philadelphia round out the top five. New Orleans moved up in the rankings as well, from 25th to 23rd , based on the increased Black population returning to that market. Source
