Black Women Board Members Decrease At Philadelphia's Top Publicly Traded Companies
Results from the 7th Annual Women on Boards survey, which researches the gender diversity of Philadelphia’s 100 publicly traded companies, indicates that the number of board seats filled by Black women declined from 7.14% in 2005 to 5.75% in 2006.
“Research shows a strong correlation between higher shareholder returns and a higher proportion of women executives...when governing board members are strong in experience and diverse in background, their companies perform better."
