Advertisers Take Note: African American Women More Likely To Watch Sports Than Soap Operas

“Conventional wisdom says soap operas are better for reaching women but in media consumption, there's no such thing as one size fits all for today's women."

BiGresearch's Simultaneous Media Survey, which takes into account the viewing habits of over 15,000 consumers, offers more intelligence on the media preferences of women, including those of color.

When asked about television preferences, African American women responded they are more likely to regularly or occasionally watch sports (66.2%) than soap operas (53.8%).
