African American Vintners: Esterlina Winery

Research shows that although African Americans drink less wine than other ethnic groups, we're 241% more likely to have spent $20 or more on store purchased wine. Yet we’re still an under tapped market when it comes to mainstream wineries courting us as buyers.

The good news is that Black vintners, such as the Sterling family of Esterlina Vineyards, are coming into more prominence nationally. The family, which has been making wine for several generations, prefers the "small quantity, high quality" style of winemaking.

Esterlina’s award winning vinos are served at upscale restaurants around the country including Wolfgang Puck’s and the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Visit the website to see their list of fine wines and to learn more about the company.
