Blacks More Likely To Use Herbal Supplements To Aid Weight Loss; Almost 900,000 Lost Via 50 Million Pound Challenge

New data presented earlier today from The Obesity Society indicates that African Americans are more likely to use unproven dietary supplements such as herbs or plant extracts that may not be FDA approved, and less likely to use commercial weight loss programs.

The findings showed no differences between ethnic groups in the use of prescription medications or medically supervised programs. An estimated 65% of U.S. adults are considered overweight or obese.

"We need to be proactive in educating all Americans about realistic expectations when it comes to weight loss and providing them with the tools that work." Source

I wonder if they’ve taken into account the almost 900,000 pounds African Americans and others have lost through the 50 Million Pound Challenge???
