Gift Cards Popular Choice For African Americans









Comdata’s Fifth Annual Gift Card Study, released earlier today, shares insight on various ethnic group’s usage of such cards.

On average, African Americans received gift cards totaling $60, while Hispanics had the highest average value among all ethnic groups at $71 ( $41 for Caucasians).

Blacks are also 44% more likely to make purchases that cost more than the value of their gift cards and 24% more inclined to purchase gift cards for personal use. Other data includes African Americans are more likely to purcahse gift cards as an impulse buy as well as obtain such cards via a financial institution. Source

I personally am a firm believer in the gift card. What better way to let the person get what they need or want. Because everyones taste is so diverse its the perfect gift for adults and kids. The only thing that most don't like is the fact that it takes out the personal touch of the chosen gift. But you have to ask yourself which would you rather have... Some New DVD's or CD's or that wallpaper tie....Think about it....
