African Americans Perceive Higher Level of Discrimination While Shopping

A recent DiversityInc.com article notes that 60% of African Americans feel they are likely to experience discrimination while shopping, compared to 53% of Hispanics and 44% of Whites.

The data, taken from a November Manhattanville College poll that surveyed over 600 residents in three New York counties: Westchester, Rockland and Putnam, is a caution to retailers to ensure consumers’ negative perceptions don’t translate into lost sales during the holiday season. Source
